So like everyday i go biking around burning calories and getting groceries. Well a few days ago i stop at my local card shop to get a 2012 topps update blaster box that was on sale for $9.99. So i couldnt pass that up! I open all the packs and the only good card that i thought was a miguel cabrera all star gold /2012. So i ride my bike back home so I can put these cards into my org. In the middle of putting all of the cards in i type in: 2012 topps update nick punto on here. i see that it says SSP in the title:
http://www.beckett.com/search/?term=2012...m=extended

So i go on ebay and search 2012 topps update nick punto and first see this:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=adr...o&_sacat=0

I see how its the only current action up. I then look at the completed listings:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sop=16&_...te=1&rt=nc

One sold BIN for $55 and the other with 19 bids at $91!!!!!
I then quickly get a magnetic and put the punto in it so it can be safe (lol) anyways heres the punto, it is FT/FS for sure!!!

That's awesome man. Can't beat that for 10 bucks!
That's awesome! I always wonder how many SP's I've missed over the last couple years before I started looking up what I have.

I guarantee no one thought Nick Punto would ever have another $100 card!

I know I have missed a few. I wish Topps would make them distinctive even something as simple as a different color foil, or something else that makes it more obvious. At least the retired player and pie in the face versions are easier to tell apart, but the subtle photo variations definitely can be annoying.

The last 4 digits on the code on the back of the card is different for the SPs than for the other base. It's kind of hard to read but if you look at a bunch and see the same numbers and then one that's different, it tends to jump out at you!
Nice! I had the same happen with the thome from the same series! Just got $100 for it on e-bay!
I got one of those ... the first US1-US8 have a SP version .. I pulled US1b Adrian Gonzalez ... it was a nice surprise! Congrats on your surprise Punto card !!!!
