Not a bad day when you can browse that many cards in one place, get some cheep wax, meet some of the great folks and meet your idol all in a few hours.

Anyway my whole reason for going up was to meet and get Patrick Roy's autograph. Now I have heard so many horror stories about him being a real jerk at signings and not talking with anyone etc...and I have to say he was rather pleasant and when I said hi and thanks he responded to both. I was going to reach out for the hand shake but didn't (kinda wish I had of) but other then that it was an amazing experience.

Anyway here is the jersey I got signed and my new favorate PC item:







I looked all over for Roy BTP stuff I needed but anything I found was something I already had. So I bought a box of 12-13 and 06-07 BTP to open on the ride home (I wasn't driving) and here are the results:







Overall not a bad box with the McLean auto and couple of decent GU cards.







Now I already had the mask and the RB08 I pulled but this was a swatch upgrade and I pulled it so it will go into the PC and I will sell the other one.

I was very pumped to get such a great box of 06-07 with two Roy cards in it.

Overall it was a very Patrick Roy day and one that I will never forget (I hope)

Congrats. That had to be an amazing experience and I'm sure something that you will remember for a lifetime. That jersey will be a great pc centerpiece all framed up!

That must've been an incredible day. Is this your 1st IP Roy auto? Also, is that jersey the very kind worn by the Habs in games back in the day?

Yes this was my first IP auto of his. It is a replica with the tie down and everything. I am sure there are differences but it is close enough for me.

I wish you would have asked him to reconsider on that whole never playing for Montreal again thing and filling in for Price for a few games, though. Sigh.

Unreal!!! Roy, Brodeur, and of course Halak are the three goalies that I would love to meet! Congrats on the sick box... but excelsior on meting Patrick Roy!!! Could he hear you talking with the rings in his ears? Haha!

Very cool story. Congrats on meeting your idol. I remember when I met Ray Bourque. It was a grand opening at Bob's store and he was there to sign autographs.
