I was thinking the same thing. I think that if it is done this way, I am not confident but I do not think you would be covered under buyer protection.

Iv bought stuff this way before and have never had an issue. I always ask the seller to invoice me for the card, and put the title in the description and everything. That will 100% protect you. Make sure to pay with a credit card as well, if anything goes wrong, they will protect you on top of paypal.
And yes, marking it as goods gives you protection. Again, use your credit card as well.
