I like that list too, very refractor-heavy

that 96 SPx Gold is very high on my want list as well. I actually have the regular version of that Kobe/MJ mystery finest but would love to pick up the refractor too!

The only one on that list I currently have is the soul of the game. Looks pretty sweet even though it only graded out at a BGS 8.

That SOTG is sweet no matter if its only a BGS 8. You could easily bust it out, resubmit it and it might come back an 8.5. Just noticed the Full Court Trap GOLD, I could never tell the difference between that and the regular one.

As far as my top 10 wantlist goes I'll start working on it after the holidays.

I have absolutely no idea why they called it gold. The lettering and whatnot is embossed on it. Tough to tell in scans but easy to pick out in person. Why not just call it embossed?

And the grade is about right. I expected a little lower score on the edges and a little higher score in the corners (back right of the card had some edging) but I guess they took it more out on the corner grade. I hoped it would eek out an 8.5 but figured it was destined for the 8.

I was digging through my old threads to post an update and found this gem so I figured I'd update/revise it as well!

Here was my initial top 10 wantlist of "realistic" MJs to pick up.

1996-97 Upper Deck Rookie of the Year Collection
1997-98 Topps Rock Stars refractor
1998-99 Skybox Molten Metal Xplosion

Here's where I stand about 18 months after the fact. With my Mitch PC taking over my MJ search, I'm pretty happy with how I've done!

1995-96 E-Xl Natural Born Thrillers- STILL NEED
1995-96 Metal Maximum Metal (I know, I know, this one is VERY affordable and pretty easy to find, just tough to find raw in good shape or graded for a reasonable price!)- HAVE: Raw, being sent in
1995-96 SP All-Stars Gold- HAVE: BGS 8.5
1996-97 Ex2000 Net Assets- HAVE: BGS 8.5
1996-97 Upper Deck Rookie of the Year Collection- HAVE: BGS 9
1997-98 Topps Rock Stars refractor- STILL NEED

So 6/10? Not too shabby. The two refractors have exploded in price even raw so they may ultimately prove toughest to procure. That gold signature card is a bear too. Now that I have more than half of the original list, I think it's time for an update! (And for the love of God I won't put any more refractors on it- that craze is killing me!) I also literally JUST got in a card I would've added to this list- 96-97 stadium club high risers, so that was a nice addition!

Some are over $150 but still in reasonable price range.

The Electrifying was in the group I was narrowing down to make the cut haha. Also love that net-rageous and those power boosters parallels.

A relatively inexpensive one I can't believe I forgot is the skybox meltdown insert. Tough to find in good shape but I REALLY want that one too, I may edit that previous post!

Some really cool cards mentioned. Just the thought of them excites and motivates me to open up ebay and start clicking "buy now." lol. I have a few that I really like, some may have already been mentioned but I like them so much I have to put em on my list.

97-98 Stadium club triumvirate - Both triumvirate cards are aesthetically amazing and very complex looking. Imo they are two of THE COOLEST die cut cards EVER!!!

98-99 Skybox Premium Soul of the Game - Probably one of my favorite Jordan insert cards. Love the "fresh prince of bel-air" style of writing and colors.

95-96 Metal Slick Silver - I have thing for acetate cards.

97-98 skybox premium silky smooth - Didn't know you could get this card graded with the little white booklet still on the card, thought it had to be removed.

96-97 Z-Force Vortex

I do love that slick silver card! Pulled one as a kid and had it forever but the surface suffered because I didn't store it properly. Need to find a replacement in better shape.

Also love the '96 SPx gold parallel, need to pick one of those up too!
