I spent what I would've on a hobby box. Not the best of strategies, lol. I'm lucky to have pulled something this awesome!
I stopped buying them because i never got anything good. I did get a MJ Drew Auto /50 from a retail pack from walmart once though 2006 turkey red.

Nice hit. I pulled one a while ago. Only took about 3 weeks for the redemption which was a pleasant surprise.
I'm not necessarily sure you'd do better spending the equivilent in Contenders Hobby - the /99 redemptions are apparently retail only. Hobby guarantees two on-card autos, but they may well be Bilal Powell and Jordan Todman. Then they guarantee two more - most likely nothing good.
All I know is that I got 2 hobby boxes and 5 blasters - 2 of the blasters had short print /99. Nothing in the hobby box was short print and I had two repeats (two Titus Young redemptions and two Rob Houslers). Okay, one of the hobby boxes was arguably better because it had a Cam Newton auto - the other one, the best auto was Torrey Smith. I can't say it was better than the 5 blasters. In fact, I'm not sure if even the regular Cam makes it better than 2 /99 short prints.
