It's like comparing a 1952 Topps baseball set to even a 1954 Topps baseball set. Both sets are great and the 54 has rookies of Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks and Al Kaline. However the 1952 Topps set is iconic with the Mantle, Mays and all sorts of other key cards and has 10 times the value of the 1954 set. The 86-87 Fleer set is iconic compared to the 88-89 Fleer set, maybe not as iconic as the 1952 Topps set. However in basketball cards the 86-87 Fleer set is definitely towards the top of iconic sets and the 88-89 Fleer set isn't even close. So there will always be a HUGE difference in pricing of the cards between those 2 sets.
All that being said, you question was "In 20-30 years, Do you think 1988/89 Fleer Basketball are going to be valuable?". To that I answer, YES they will be valuable however nowhere near as valuable as the 86-87 Fleer cards.
Mhm, Well explained there Djohn. and thanks for answering my question.
