I know I grabbed your attention...

Sorry in advance for the utterly horrifying quality of scans.

So I struck "gold" with BGS on my most recent submission. I spent a year accumulating cards (10-11 from wax, everything else mostly eBay) and selecting (agonizing!) over the candidates. It paid off. Of 30 cards submitted, 24 came back 9.5. Here's a sampling of my faves:

"The Big 4" - some in multiples.

PC in BGS 9.5 is always exciting. Niemi rookie cards are my primary PC and then, of course, the Leafs. Also - 2 of several 05-06 Future Watch 9.5s. Oh, and the Niemi is the only 9.5 out there!

Very cool Crosby card that I pulled out of a reasonably priced box.

2 tough 9.5s.

And, of course, Mr. Kessel.

Hope you enjoyed! And if not, here's that Taylor Hall I was talking about. I "pulled" it out of a Mac's (I asked! I swear...)

Does this qualify as a rookie card?

that a rc in my eyes nice stuff
Very nice stuff, and to have it all 9.5 is awesome! Congrats on the great hit, too!

Nice collection!!
Agony + 24/30 x 9.5s = Ecstasy

I like that equation. : )

Since you spent so much time poring over condition, I'm wondering if you anticipated a lot of the subgrades. For example, with nothing lower than a 9.5 subgrade on the Eberle YG, were you hoping for a Pristine? Did you see where they'd ding you 0.5 on the corners and edges?
Excellent question!
I honestly cannot understand what Beckett looks for once they are in the 9.5+ range. I've never had a 10 returned to me. I've seen 10s that have various issues. Heck, I own 9.5s that clearly have issues (i.e. a rough edge) but received "9.5" on that particular subgrade. Of all the companies, I see the most consistency and attention to detail from Beckett - but inevitably, I think every company exhibits some oversights here and there.
I'll give you an example - I have the only 9.5 Black Diamond Gold Heatley rookie card, but it is certainly not "gem", in fact, it has a little surface scratch. However - if you stack it up with others from that condition-sensitive set, it is perhaps the best it can be...thus warranting the 9.5.
Considering the great subgrades I got, I was surprised I didn't score a 10. But if you look at the stats...less than 1% of all submissions come back a 10!

For those wondering...the Hall is big! It was used in a display for chips.
wow amazing cards! also love the luke schenn 9.5!
pretty nice congrats on all those grades
