A one year Bowl ban, along with other penalties

Meanwhile Tressel gets nothing, the former players who have left get nothing, and those who have stuck behind get screwed. There should be some other recourse that can be taken to punish the people who were involved besides a slap on the wrist.

I completely agree, just take USC for example, Reggie Bush gets benefits for his family and Pete Carroll left before the hammer hit and now that team has to be punished for what somebody else did. They are a great team yet can't go to a bowl because of a former player, when these kids did nothing wrong.NCAA is a joke

I dont see how its a slap on the wrist...
All involved got suspended.
Pryor got suspended for games in the NFL that have nothing to do with college.
Tressel lost millions of dollars and a dream job and it tarnished his reputation. Hardly a slap on the wrist.

I am trying to forget all of this that has happened lol...

actually, if any college hires tressel within the next 5 years that school will face sanctions as well. so that almost ensures no school will touch him for at least 5 years.

oh brother is Gonzodad gonna be bummed....the Vest shoulda gotten the BIG punishment..not the kids left behind..

I think that Tressel has taken too much heat.....The players acted on their own and how can't babysit them 24/7, now yes he is at fault for not reporting them but I am sure that other coaches have not reported certain incidents (Bowden) and look at Paterno he loved is DC so much he let him fondle kids.....So yep Tressel is the boss so he will take the heat but he did not make the players break the rules. BTW I am a Gator fan and I can't stand the vest but I also think blame should be placed properly.

The issue us not that he didn't report it but he LIED to NCAA investigators. That is why he was hit with the 5 year show cause penalty.
