This nine-card standard-size set was issued as a contest as a dealer premium and as an insert in packs. The letter X was issued in shorter quantities in packs and was produced in both silver and gold foil. The letters C, E, L, U were issued both as dealer case promos, and any two of these letters per Collector's Edge Gold foil box. The object of the game was to spell out EXCALIBUR with the cards, which in turn could be redeemed for prizes. Any single card could be redeemed for a Collector's Edge promo card before December 31, 1994. Collectors who completed the set of all nine cards, including a silver X, could win a foil-embossed version of the Excalibur FX set. The gold version of X as part of the set was redeemable for an uncut sheet of the 22K Gold insert cards. The fronts show the letter in large old-style English. Underneath the letter is a sword running through the word "EdgeQuest". The backs have redemption information. The set redemption deadline was March 30, 1995. [Collapse]
