There are three slightly different versions of this 20-card standard-size set. The difference involves the prismatic backgrounds. The standard 1993 Pacific Prism Inserts were produced with triangular prismatic backgrounds in quantities of 8,000 cards each. They were randomly inserted in regular (12-card maroon-colored) Pacific packs as well as Triple Folder packs. The circular versions of the prismatic background cards were inserted one per special (gold-colored) retail packs. The third version uses a gold triangular prismatic background. The production of these cards was reportedly limited to 1,000 each, and they were randomly inserted in 1993 Pacific Triple Folder packs. The fronts feature color player action cut-outs over borderless prismatic foil backgrounds. The player's name appears in team-colored block lettering at the bottom. The borderless back carries the same player photo, but this time with its original on-field background. The player's name appears in white cursive lettering near a lower corner. The set features 20 of the NFL's top players on a "Prism" background that makes the player contrast sharply with the background.
