The 1992 Gridiron football set was produced by Lafayette Sportscard Corporation (LSC). The 110 standard-size cards pay tribute to graduating seniors and coaches from the top 25 college teams of 1991. Three players and one coach represent each team included in the set. Reportedly the production run was limited to 50,000 sets or 2,500 numbered cases. The full-bleed glossy color photos dominate the card fronts; the producer's logo, player's name, team name, and position are placed in the corners. In addition to a second color player photo, the back carries biography, career highlights, and statistics (1991 and career), on panels reflecting the team colors. The four Desmond Howard cards (13B, 33B, 105B, and 107B) have a letter suffix after the card number. Questions have been raised as to the proper licensing of this set, but we include it in this volume since the cards are widely accepted in the industry. [Collapse]
