The 1992 Action Packed football set contains 280 standard-size cards. Cards were issued six per pack. The fronts feature borderless embossed color player photos, accented by either gold and aqua (NFC) or gold and red (AFC) border stripes running down either the left or right side of the card face. The team helmet appears in the lower left or right corner, with the player's name and position printed at the card bottom. The horizontally oriented backs carry biography, player profile, a color head shot, and an "Action Note" in the form of an extended caption to the photo on the front. The cards are numbered on the back and checklisted below alphabetically according to teams. There are no key Rookie Cards in this set. To show support for their injured teammate, a special "thumbs up" logo with Mike Utley's number 60 was placed on the back of all Detroit Lions' cards. The factory set closes with a Braille subset (281-288) and Logo cards (289-290). The inside lid of the factory set box has the set checklist printed on it. The eight Braille cards, available in foil packs as well as factory sets, feature category leaders by division. Action Packed also made 26 18K solid gold Tiffany-designed cards of Action Packed Player of the Year Barry Sanders. Certificates for a chance to win these cards were randomly inserted in the regular series foil packs. Action Packed also produced a 288-card "Mint" parallel version of the regular set. The Mint cards were pacakged seperately in boxes of twenty-four six-card packs. [Collapse]
