Seven-Eleven stores released two series of football player cups in the early 1970s. Each white plastic cup measures roughly 5-1/4" tall, 3-1/4" in diameter at the mouth and 2" at the base. The fronts feature a color portrait of a player along with his name and team name. In many cases, a facsimile autograph appears between the bottom of the portrait and the player's name. All of the players pictured are helmetless. The backs include basic biographical information along with the 7-Eleven logo at the top and the player's team helmet at the bottom. The unnumbered cups are arranged below alphabetically. Both years are very similar in design. The 1972 release is distinguished by the smaller type face used on the player's name (1/16" tall) and the lack of the "Made in USA" tag that runs down the sides of the 1973 cups. [Collapse]
