Coca-Cola issued its final run of football caps in 1966. Each NFL team had a set released in their area along with the NFL All-Stars caps as part of the "Score with the Pros" promotion. Each team's Saver Sheets had separate sections in which to affix both the local team's caps and the All-Stars' caps. The caps measure approximately 1 1/8" in diameter and have the drink logo and a football on the outside, while the inside has the player's face printed in black with the team name above the photo, the player's name below, his position to the right and the cap number to the left. Some teams are also known to exist in a version that features a slightly smaller player photo. Cap numbers included a "C" prefix on all NFL teams except the Giants which had two versions with either "C" or "G" prefixes. The consumer could turn in his completed saver sheet to receive various prizes. The 1966 caps are very similar to the 1965 issue and many of the players are the same in both years. However, the 1966 caps have the words "Caramel Colored" on the outside of the cap while the 1965 caps do not. Most caps were also produced for 1966 on other Coca-Cola products: Tab (Dietary Beverage), Fanta, Fresca, King Size Coke and Sprite. These other drink caps typically carry a slight premium over the value of the Coke version. [Collapse]
