This set of 70 Coke caps was issued on bottled soft drinks primarily in cities without an NFL team. The caps were issued along with their own Saver Sheet. Each measures approximately 1 1/8" in diameter and has the drink logo and a football on the outside, while the inside has the player's face printed in black or red, with NFL ALL STARS above the player image. The 1965 caps are very similar to the 1966 issue and many of the players are the same in both years. However, the 1965 caps do not have the words "Caramel Colored" on the outside of the cap as do the 1966 caps. An "NFL ALL STARS" title appears above the player's photo so some caps were issued with this set and the NFL All-Stars set. The consumer could turn in his completed saver sheet to receive various prizes. These caps were also produced for 1965 on other Coca-Cola products: TAB, Fanta and Sprite. The other drink caps typically carry a slight premium (1.5-2 times) over the value of the Coke version. [Collapse]
