This series was released in 1991 by Matchbox. This series was released in 1991 by Matchbox. Each yellow, red and black blister package included one Indy 500 collector coin featuring a car and/or driver of a race winning Indy 500 event or other event such as fastest lap. The coin was packaged with a random die-cast Indy car or other Indy related piece such as a fuel truck. Many of the plastic Indy cars were produced to resemble actual cars driven during the event while others are generic in nature. There are many different combinations of die-cast and coins packaged together at random so we've cataloged each blister package below only by the identification of the coin and in order of the year of the Indy event featured on the coin. Note also that the backs of the blisters sometimes feature a copyright year of 1990, but all were issued for the 75th running of the Indy 500 in 1991 as noted on the logo included on the blister.
