The 1997 Basketball Rookies set was issued in one series totaling 100 cards and was distributed in eight-card packs with a suggested retail price of $2.79. The fronts feature borderless color action player photos. The backs carry player information. Each box of the Hobby-exclusive version contained an average of one vintage card from 50 top players of all time or one original, unopened wax pack from one of the top basketball series ever produced. Redemption cards were inserted for all cards with a book value of more than $200 and for a select few original wax packs. Each box also contained an average of one autographed card signed by a first round pick from the 1994-1997 drafts. These cards were preproduced cards that were signed and stamped with a ScoreBoard seal. The Retail boxes did not contain an autographed card, but contained two vintage cards or packs. [Collapse]
