The 1995-96 SkyBox set was issued in two series of 150 and 151 standard-size cards, for a total of 301. The cards were issued in 12-card regular packs at a suggested retail price of $1.99, and jumbo packs of 20 were sold at $3.99. Full-bleed fronts feature a full-color action player cutout against a one-color background of either blue, cyan, yellow or magenta. A computer-generated flame streaks out from the basketball the player is holding. Backs feature a one-color player action shot in a vertical strip on the right side of the cards and a full color close-up shot at the bottom left. The top right features a player biography and career stats. The set is arranged and checklisted below alphabetically according to teams by city. Subsets are Front and Center (125-133), Turning Point (134-142), Expansion Teams (143-148), Rookies (219-248), Honor Roll (249-298) and Checklists (299-300). Key Rookie Cards include Michael Finley, Kevin Garnett, Antonio McDyess, Joe Smith, Jerry Stackhouse and Damon Stoudamire. A 5" by 7" jumbo featuring Grant Hill (card #226) was issued as a chiptopper in retail boxes. In addition, parallel lenticular versions of the Grant Hill and Jerry Stackhouse Meltdown inserts were available through a second series wrapper offer. Both cards are unnumbered and feature nifty moving backgrounds in which a steel wall turns to goo as fireworks explode. Collectors had to send in two wrappers along with a check or money order for $9.99 per card before the December 31st, 1996 deadline. [Collapse]
