These card-size "books" measure approximately 2 1/2" by 3 3/8". The set was issued in four different boxes, with 12 different mini-books in each box. Each book consists of eight pages, including the front and back covers. The front cover features a borderless color player photo, with the player's above the picture in the team's color stripe. Pages 2 and 3 have a color "mug shot" of the player, biographical information, team logo, and career highlights. A color stripe runs across the bottom of each page, with the team name in white lettering. Pages 4 and 5 have a "personal story" about the player. Page 6 has career statistics (college and pro), while page 7 features a borderless color action photo. The top half of the back cover has another color player photo, with a player quote below the picture. An additional special collect-a-book chronicles the Detroit Piston's march to consecutive NBA World Championships. It was available free to consumers only through an offer on second series 1990-91 Hoops packs; fans could receive two booklets free, and additional booklets could be purchased for 50 cents each. The eight-page Pistons booklet features four color photos of the Pistons' top players, a three-page story recapping the team's 1989 and 1990 championship seasons, and playoff statistics for each player. The front cover shows several Piston players with the Larry O'Brien Trophy, while the back cover features Thomas and Dumars, MVP's of the 1989 and 1990 NBA Finals respectively. [Collapse]
