The 1969-70 Topps basketball cartoon poster inserts are clever color cartoon drawings of NBA players, with "ruler" markings on the left edge of the insert. These paper-thin posters measure approximately 2 1/2" by 9 7/8". The player's height is indicated in an arrow pointing towards the ruler, and the top of the player's head corresponds to this line on the ruler. The inserts are numbered and contain the player's name and team in an oval near the bottom of the insert. As might be expected, these inserts make the players look both taller and thinner than they actually are. Insert number 5 was never issued; it was intended to be Bill Russell. The inserts came with gum packs (one per pack) of Topps regular issue basketball cards of that year. [Collapse]
