This 527-card set was released in March, 2007. This set was issued through both hobby and retail channels. The set was issued in eight-card hobby packs (with an $3 SRP) which came 24 packs to a box and 12 boxes to a case. Each pack also included a sealed piece of bubble gum. In the tradition of previous Heritage sets, this product honored the 1958 Topps set. In addition, in homage to the original 1958 set, some cards issued between 1-110 were issued in two varieties (a white and yellow letter version). Those yellow cards were inserted at a stated rate of one in six hobby or retail packs. Also, just like the original 1958 Topps set, there was no card #145 issued. In another long-standing Heritage tradition, many cards throughout the set were short-printed. Those short prints were inserted at a stated rate of one in two. In other tributes to the original 1958 sets, many multi-player cards and team checklist cards were inserted in the same card number as the original set and the set concludes with a 20-card All-Star set (476-495).
