This 500 card standard-size set was issued in 10 card packs that had a SRP of $2.19 per pack. Each Box containted 36 packs and each case had 20 boxes. Continuing the trend begun in 1998 with Pacific On-Line, Pacific issued two versions of 50 of the star or leading prospect players in the set with both an action version as well as a head shot. Thus the cards are actually numbered from 1 through 450, but the 50 additional headshot cards (carrying identical numbering to the action cards) bring the total number of cards in the set to 500. The complete set includes both versions of each player. The head shots were inserted one per pack. An unnumbered Tony Gwynn sample card was distributed to dealers and hobby media prior to the product's release.
