1999 Metal Universe Sample Sheet

This non-perforated six card sheet was distributed to wholesale dealer and retail accounts several weeks prior to the national release of 1999 Metal Universe in an effort to preview the cards. This non-perforated six card sheet was distributed to wholesale dealer and retail accounts several weeks prior to the national release of 1999 Metal Universe in an effort to preview the cards. The sheet measures 5" by 10.5". The cards are identical to their standard issue counterpart releases except on the back where the word "SAMPLE" replaces the card number. Since the sheet is non-perforated, it's consistently traded (and therefore priced below) as one unit. In addition, a special version of this sheet - signed by J.D. Drew - was distributed to attendees at the 15th Annual Hawaii Trade Conference in February, 1999. Only 325 autographed sheets were printed, each of which is adorned with a circular gold foil SkyBox seal in the middle of the sheet. Drew signed the sheet in black ink over his own card. Each autographed sheet is serial numbered by hand in black ink. [Collapse]
