This card was issued almost immediately after Mickey Mantle received a liver tranplant on June 8, 1995. The purpose of this card was to encourage others to donate their organs to donor if it were ever needed. This card was issued by the Mickey Mantle Foundation. This card when in its original state measures 3 1/2" by 7 1/2" but part of the card could be perforated and kept as the organ donor card. That card, which feature a picture of the Mick on the front, measures 3 1/2" by 2 1/2". While we have put a nominal monetary value on this card, we prefer that the card not be traded in the secondary market, rather that it be given to people to fill out and be used if needed. [Collapse]
