These standard-size cards are the product of a technological break through developed by Mitsubishi that makes it possible to put a full color picture on precious metals. Artist Gregory Perillo created the oil paintings of the players reproduced on the card fronts. Production quantities vary for each card. Only 1,000 of card number 1 (a prototype) were produced and distributed to attendees of the Gold Glove charity dinner. The production run of cards number 2 and 3 were 10,000 and 1,200 respectively. The card front also has gold borders and the player's name appears in a gold plaque in the bottom gold border. The back has the serial number and career summary.
