The coins in this 72 coin set measure approximately 1 3/4" diameter. For the second year in a row, 7-Eleven issued sets of coins (officially called Slurpee Discs). The fronts feature two pictures (portrait and action) of each player, each of which can be seen by moving the coin slightly to one side or another. There were, in effect, three different sets of 24 coins corresponding to an East, Central and West region. The letter suffix after the number in the checklist below denotes the region of issue, East (E), Central (C), or West (W). Of the total 72 coins, only 60 different players appear. Six players appear in all three sets. The repeat players are Andre Dawson, Robin Yount, Dale Murphy, George Brett, Mike Schmidt and Eddie Murray. Each team is represented by at least one player and as one might expect, players within the three groups favor the teams of the geographical location in which that particular group was issued. Coins are numbered on the back, which is different from the uniform number which is on the front of the coin. [Collapse]
