1982 Topps Sticker Variations

This 48-card (skip-numbered) set is actually a slightly different version of the 1982 Topps stickers. They are the same size (1 15/16" by 2 9/16") and are easily confused. They were produced for insertion into the regular packs of cards that year. This 48-card (skip-numbered) set is actually a slightly different version of the 1982 Topps stickers. They are the same size (1 15/16" by 2 9/16") and are easily confused. They were produced for insertion into the regular packs of cards that year. They are distinguishable from the "other" sticker set by the fact that on their backs these say the Topps sticker album is "Coming Soon." There are no foils in this set. All of the stickers in this set depict a single player. Colored borders surround the posed color player photos on the fronts, blue for the NL and red for the AL. The player's name and position appear on the back. The stickers are numbered on the front and back. Choice of players for this small set appears to have been systematic, i.e., taking every fourth player between number 17 and number 109 and every fifth player between number 151 and number 251.
