The cards in this 108-card set measure 1 13/16" by 3 1/4" in a three-card panel measuring 3 1/4" by 5 1/4". The 1981 Topps Scratch-Offs were issued in their own wrapper with bubble gum. The title "Scratch-Off" refers to the black dots of each card which, when rubbed or scraped with a hard edge, reveal a baseball game. While there are only 108 possible individual cards in the set, there are 144 possible panels combinations. The N.L. players appear with green backgrounds and A.L. players with red backgrounds. The numbering of the cards in the set is according to league with American Leaguers (1-54) and National Leaguers (55-108). Some cards are found without dots. An intact panel is worth 20 percent more than the sum of its individual cards. Each card back contained a "wrapper offer" whereby collectors could send a check or money order and one Topps Scratchoffs wrapper and recieve either a "Ball Strike Indicator" ($.90 + one wrapper), a "Topps Super Sports Card Locker" ($6.50) or a "Baseball Hat" ($8.00 + one wrapper). Some cards can be found with different offers on the card backs. Those cards have been noted below. [Collapse]
