The 1971 Washington Senators Police set was issued on a thin unperforated cardboard sheet measuring approximately 12 1/2" by 8". In contrast to the previous year's issue, the sheet is not divided up into separate cards by thin black lines. If the sheet were cut into individual player cards, each player's card would measure approximately 2 1/2" by 4". The color of the sheet ranges from pink to peach, and consequently the black and white borderless player photos have a similar cast. The player's name, position, and team name appear below the pictures. The backs have different safety messages sponsored by the Office of Traffic Safety, D.C. Department of Motor Vehicles. The cards are unnumbered and checklisted below in alphabetical order. The set is dated by the fact that it is Denny McLain's only year on the Senators. [Collapse]
