Willie Mays is Topps’ first Prime 9 player of 2012
By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor
You can “Say Hey” to this year’s HTA Prime 9 cards beginning today as Topps has announced the first player to be part of its hobby shop redemption card program.
It’s “The Say Hey Kid” Willie Mays.
All collectors who found a Week 1 redemption card in their 2012 Topps packs (two per hobby or HTA Jumbo box) can exchange their cards for the Mays Chrome Refractor card seen here at a participating hobby shop.
Topps will announce the remaining nine Home Run Legends each Friday for the next eight weeks.

My hobby shop posted that Hank Aaron is the card to be passed out this week so which one is accurate?
This is what Topps announced … and I heard one other shop had been told differently, too.
I will be selling my un-used cards, as Topps will not redeem them, and I have no hobby shop in my area…sigh.
Hank Aaron is #1 – received the card today. Also shop had received #2 Ruth, #3 Mays, #4 Reggie Jackson and # 6 Mantle. No’s 5, 7, 8 & 9 not known/received.
