We know you love Box Busters, but let’s take it up a notch (and a few decibels) and see what The Rip Master Alan Narz saw collectors pull at the Topps Sterling Rip Party recently held at his shop in Orlando, Fla.

Chris Olds has collected sports cards and memorabilia since 1987. Before coming to Beckett Media, he wrote about the hobby for the Orlando Sentinel on his blog, SportsStuff, and for the San Antonio Express-News and The Tuscaloosa (Ala.) News. I have a really hard time seeing the $200 plus value in these boxes. That Cobb is really nice, but a sticker auto of Paul Molitor? Most of those are $25-$100 cards after the market settles a bit. In fact, right now, many of the relic cards are available for less than half the cost of a box.

And just think… the Molitor is the toughest pull in the product at 1:61 boxes…

Paul Molitor hit 500 HRs? I didn’t know that, but at the 3:08 mark the Rip Girl said it so it must be true.

At the Topps Treasury Rip Party, the Rip Girl proclaimed every rookie as the next rookie of the year,. Awesome.

That was kind of loud but cool.
How do you get invited to one of those Ripparties.

From Olds: If you live in the Orlando area, then you just have to ask about it at his shop — and have the funds to buy a box.
