The NFL is nearing the end of the regular season. There are just three weeks left to decide what teams will make the playoffs.
It seems like this time of year certain players stand out with gritty performances.
This week was tougher than most to give awards. Many veterans had solid weeks and some rookies certainly shined, but had dark moments during games as well.
Here are the awards for week 13:
Veteran of the Week
Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings – Peterson won the award again with an outstanding performance on Sunday. He rushed for 210 yards on 21 carries, padding his league-leading season total, and scored in a 23-14 loss to Green Bay. Peterson has rushed for 100 yards or more in six straight games.
Rookie of the Week
Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts – The rookie quarterback had an up and down week. He completed 24-of-54 passes for 391 yards with four touchdowns. But he also threw three interceptions. However, at the end of the game, Luck came through and led the Colts to a 35-33 win over Detroit.
Breakout Performance of the Week
Danario Alexander, WR, San Diego Chargers – Alexander has shown signs of life this season with a couple of big games. He did it again on Sunday with six catches for 102 yards. He also has 467 receiving yards this season in six games, surpassing his 431 in 10 games from last year.
