Topps had an unabashed hit on its hands (no pun intended) with the debut release earlier this year of its Ultimate Fighting Championship product.

Fast on the heels of what must be considered one of 2009’s biggest trading card successes so far comes word from Topps about the next installment, set for release later this summer.

Topps officials today released preview information on the absolutely loaded second edition, which, quite frankly, looks even more promising than the first edition.

Some highlights:

* 16-pack hobby boxes include two autographs, two relic cards, 16 parallels and 16 inserts.

* 150-card base set including 40 newcomers and a 10-card Personalities subset featuring the likes of Octagon Girls and notable referees.

* Diamond, Ruby, Onyx and Gold parallels, with one parallel per pack on average.

See more of the cards after the jump.

I don’t mind buying these cards considering I bought 16 boxes of Round 1. I had some really good hits. I just wish they do away with the sticker autograph. I prefer the auto on the card.

Can’t wait for Topps UFC Round 2. My Round 1 Collection is looking pretty sweet.
Looking forward the Red Auto graphs of Bloodlines, Octagon of Honor, Duel Fight Mat Relics, Ultimate Gear, and Fighters that were left out of Topps UFC Round 1 like Hughes, Lesnar, Liddell, Miletich, Jon Jones, Silva (Wanderlei), Marquardt, Machida, Pulver,Kampman, Okami. Also I will go after the octagon of honor Diamond Parallels of Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Severn, Couture, Coleman, Hughes, Evan Tanner, Forrest Griffin, Miletich, and Diego Sanchez. I would also like to find the Diamond Parallels of the Continuity Programs and the Greats of the Game.

not interested in UFC unless WEC is included, Uriah Faber needs to be included in any set and he is in the rival league, and won’t move for nothin !!!!!!!

    Hey Larry,

WEC is actually also owned by Zuffa (owners of UFC) and isn’t really considered a rival, but instead a separate promotion that features different weight classes.

Many would like to see the two promotions merge, but that doesn’t seem likely with the WEC amping up the # of events they put on this year.
