Grant Desme, an outfielder in the Athletics organization who hit .288 with 31 home runs and stole 40 bases last season, is retiring at age 24.

Desme appears on 63 cards, 32 of those autographed. Baseball America ranked him eighth among Oakland’s top 10 prospects.
Last season, the A’s finished last in the AL West, 22 games back.
