If one looked closely at the on-box features of 2012 Panini Cooperstown, the very last line of the product’s features on the back panel of the wax box was a simple one.

“Ty Cobb Georgia Peach (one card) * Lou Gehrig The Iron Horse (one card)”

On Monday, Panini America unveiled exactly what those are — and exactly how tough they are to find.

The two cards were inserted into packs at a rate of one in every 9,600 packs, according to the company. That’s one per every 400 boxes of the product — making some of those elusive autographs perhaps seem much easier to find than they are.

These cards — simply substantially short-printed cards — just might be the rarest non 1/1s in the product, which does not contain any game-used memorabilia cards.

Autographs are found one per 24-pack box of the Cooperstown-focused product with some boxes including two.

The only copy of either card to surface on eBay — a Gehrig — sold for $35 last week.

If you’ve always wanted to visit a Hall of Fame but couldn’t, Panini America might be able to help you out.

If you get a little lucky, of course.

The only licensed manufacturer of sports cards for the NBA, NFL and MLBPA announced on Friday that its newest product, 2012-13 Prestige basketball, which arrives in hobby shops today will include the first chance for fans to potentially win a trip to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. — and more.

Each pack of Prestige will include a Hall of Fame Holiday code card and appropriate cards also will be found in 2012 Cooperstown (delayed) and 2012 Gridiron coming soon.

And if you don’t win, you’re entered into a contest for a trip to all three Halls.

“One of our main objectives with every product we make is to bring fans and collectors as close as possible to the greatest athletes who’ve ever played the game,” said Jason Howarth, Panini America Vice President of Marketing, in a prepared statement. “Now, we’re taking that mission one step farther with this special Hall of Fame promotion. One lucky fan will win a free trip to the Hall of Fame – and the lasting memories that come with such an opportunity – just for opening packs of Panini America trading cards.”
