Upper Deck didn’t waste any time letting collectors know about the short prints in 2011-12 NHL Series One.

The company released the information on two insert sets – Signature Sensations and UD Game Jersey — on Thursday, the same week the product came out.

As collectors can imagine, some of the more popular names in hockey will be the toughest autos to pull. Group A names include players such as Gordie Howe, Mark Messier, Patrick Kane, Luc Robitaille, Sidney Crosby, Wayne Gretzky among other names. The Group A cards’ odds are listed as 1 in 3,645 packs (See a complete checklist below).

Same goes for some of the jersey cards as well. Four players are listed in Group A (1:4,276) that includes Steve Stamkos, Milan Hejduk, Taylor Hall and Gretzky.

But don’t worry, there are many popular players in Groups B through F, which have much better odds are being pulled.

With the 2010-11 NHL season now behind us and the final high-end hockey releases afoot, card companies are looking forward with forward-looking lines.

Upper Deck unveiled today a detailed report on what’s to come for retailers stocking its 2011-12 Series One Hockey line. Come November, collectors out running errands (or those doing so as an excuse to buy cards) can look find the manufacturer’s basic brand in 32-card fat packs, 8-card foil packs and 10 (plus two bonus)-pack blasters on retail shelves.

Beyond the 200-card base set, Upper Deck’s signature retail release has a few formulas worth studying this summer.

First, the fat packs:
