Beckett Sports Card Monthly‘s Chris Olds joins Panini America‘s Tracy Hackler to rip some wrapper redemption packs from the floor of the National Sports Collectors Convention.
What will they find inside? Watch and find out …
We’ll give away some of the hits in this break randomly to commenters … so let us know what you think.
Those are some great looking cards!! Wish I could be at the National!!
I have never been to Chicago although I am within a day’s drive. I would love to be on location to check all that cool stuff out!
I really like the base cards, a strong design and I like the college connection.
cool cards I love the College Colors cards
I think Panini id a really good job with these packs this year! I think all the cards look very nice, with great and fun inserts. Personally, I would love to get my hands on some of these, one of the coolest cards I think in the set is the NC state baseball Russell Wilson, especially living in NC. I also like that some of the rookies from basketball have some of their first cards in this set. Overall, this set is great for collectors and adds a lot to buying Panini products around the national.
However, there are two things I don’t like. One is that they are only found at the national, making it hard for a lot of people to get their hands on the packs. The second thing is resell value. I think the cards a great for collecting but if you pull a really great card it is very likely that it just won’t sell for a whole lot. I don’t know why it is but sets like this, father’s day and black Friday all seem to not hit a super high mark in the market.
Despite the resell value, I really like the cards that Panini has put together for this set and really wish I could get some.
I think the National has become so crazy it’s become a must for any collector. It’s still on my bucket-list. Just worried about how much $$$ I’ll spend.
You can’t take a gabbler to a casino or a fat kid to the chocolate factory and most of all you can’t take a middle age man to a sport’s card convention.
Told my wife if I ever get the chance to go “Whatever happens at the Convention stays at the Convention” and daddy’s getting a special credit card to go so mommy won’t see it and make daddy sleep outside.
Also want to meet Chris Olds and blame him for getting me back into wrestling and other sports cards from reading his monthly submissions. So happy with my 1985 Topps Hulk Hogan RC graded 9 even with his troubles and my 1938 Churchman’s Boxing set.
That Todd Gurley card and the Cam Newton card are the two nicest pulls.
Looks great!! Panini did a good job with the cards, even without the MLBPA license.
Great looking cards!!! Would love the DPrice cards in my collection!!!
