Upper Deck is busy preparing its latest Goodwin Champions release, which is slated to arrive this summer, and it’s going to include plenty of autographs from plenty of sports.

Make that plenty of autographed cards from plenty of sports.

The company teased the selection of signatures — from the iconic heights of hockey’s Wayne Gretzky and basketball’s Michael Jordan to the controversial in ex-baseball star Jose Canseco — on Friday evening.

The initial release of Goodwin in 2009 included some of the most unusual cards ever made — insects, pieces of the Golden Gate Bridge, thoroughbred horse hair and more were found in packs along with autographs of some of the biggest names in sports. Based on this selection, looks like the autograph side just might be covered once again this year.

Here’s a sampling of the signatures to be found … after the jump.

Jose Canseco as Upper Deck’s lead, how appropriate. A company that cheated represented by a player that cheated. Enough said.

Gretzsky’s hair & auto should be on that card, so they can call it Auto/Mullet relic card #1/1….I would chase that in a minute…..Wow! What a wave!

I like the autos. I was waiting for someone to make a Canseco joke. As far as the other comments, I believe Topps is also guilty of trying to pass a card off as something it wasn’t.

baseball will sue them right away, like they did powell, what an idiot she was. If I was Topps I would go after them to protect my exclusive, but the horseracing ceo has no clue as to what he is doing. TV Guidfe cards maybe?

Kevin you must live in Siberia if you cant get UD product.

Hard signed is always a plus, beats Panini and their sticker junk and the other unlicensed garbage floating around out there.

Chris, admit it, you’re droolin’ over the Canseco. It’s all good. I think it’s pretty sweet myself.
