New video game brings football fans into HBCU campuses
A new video game arrives in stores today that brings gamers an unprecedented look at football at historically black colleges and universities, or HCBUs, with former Washington Redskins quarterback Doug Williams leading the way.
BCFX — The Doug Williams Edition combines football action with the pageantry and energy of the famed marching bands which are part of two unique new rhythm games within the game — the interactive Halftime Show and Drum Line Challenge.
The game offers a lesson in HBCU football history with historical data in its Legacy Museum as well as licensed music performed by those famous marching bands.
Along the schools in the game are: Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Albany State, Alcorn State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Benedict Tigers, Bethune Cookman University, Bowie State, Clark-Atlanta, Elizabeth City State, Fayetteville State, Florida A&M, Fort Valley State, Grambling, Hampton University, Jackson State, Johnson C. Smith, Kentucky State, Lane, Livingstone, Miles, Mississippi Valley State, Morehouse, Prairie View A&M, Saint Augustine, Saint Paul’s, Shaw, South Carolina State, Southern, Stillman, Tennessee State, Texas Southern, Tuskegee, Virginia State and Virginia Union.
Developed by Nerjyzed Entertainment, the game is available for the Xbox 360 and for PCs. As part of the BET Tour, a game compeition will be one of the many events at HBCU campuses across the country and Nerjyzed has a 12-week tour planned to bring the game and the BCFx tour bus to campuses.
Nerjyzed also will be the title sponsor of Battle of The Bands and Greek Show during the State Farm Bayou Classic Weekend in November.
