More details on USA Baseball box set released
While the USA Baseball boxed set arrives on Jan. 18, little has been revealed about what will be inside the annual fund-raising product — other than the confirmed inclusion of a few Bryce Harper cards — until now.
The standard set will include the National Team, the 18U National Team and the 16U National Team, while each set will include seven autographs per box — five of those being on-card autographs. Each set will include one inscriptions card as well as a Q&A, Big Signatures, Starting Lineup or team roster card.
As with all Upper Deck products, a suggested retail price was not announced.
Each set also will include three game-used jersey cards — one patch or patch autograph per box — while there also will be Starting Lineup Autograph cards as in recent years as well as Team Roster Autograph cards that have the entire roster’s signatures.
Also back will be 1-of-1 Flag Patch cards, while all memorabilia cards have been upgraded to either be a triple jersey or patch.
The autographs will again be found with blue-, red- and green-ink variations.
We’ll have more on this product as soon as it’s available.

You mean to say, you will have more on this product when you open it? I remember not so long ago a time when you knew months in advance what was going to be in a product, you know, like before you ordered it? Upper Deck has given no promises on this product, why would anyone pre order that?
Upper Deck has decided to not release any information on that product until today, which is what you see above.
In addition, from Upper Deck’s Chris Carlin back on Nov. 5: “[Information will be released] only in the form of fact sheets. We can’t market the players by showing images since they are amateurs.”
I contacted USA Baseball to get the info on Harper’s cards found at the link in the story and the images that are with it.
Again, you’re on fire. Got anything else?
fact sheets? LOL How about a list of players who are going to be in the product, I mean cmon Chris, this isn’t rocket science. For years and years there have been pre-sale checklists. Are we just supposed to trust UD on this? I don’t need pictures, I need names. We can both agree that prospect products like this can be watered down big time. Stop defending companies who are hiding behind double talk. Get on your cape, get on the phone and get us some answers! Thanks
Carlin said Upper Deck ain’t coughing it up (i.e. checklists) in advance. It’s pretty simple. I’m defending no one. If Upper Deck doesn’t want to release the information just the cards, it’s Upper Deck’s right to do so.
Then again, one should presume that last year’s team members for those squads should be in the base set, too.
(I wonder if there will be sticker autographs in this one?)
The set is now scheduled to arrive on Jan. 18. The story has been updated.
hey schmidtfan20(kevin) I have tried like hell to get this info…. no dice. UD isn’t spilling it no matter how many times it’s asked for.
great great great
