High Fives: 2012 Topps Triple Threads baseball

One of the hobby’s most-popular high-end products arrived for the seventh-straight year this week packing within it some of the hobby’s most-colorful memorabilia cards, some big names and some big ink.
It’s 2012 Topps Triple Threads.
With roughly five days of completed eBay auctions in hand, here’s a look at some high fives for the brand — some completed auctions and some that did not sell with the most-expensive cards listed first. (While there are plenty of active auctions, this first high five does not include any of them as asking prices can be a bit crazy for a product like this.)

some sweet looking cards but worth the price, i guess it all depends on the person who wants them as for my self i probably wouldn’t pay that high
but again they are sweet looking
This is great looking stuff, but I personally would not pay those prices. By the way, is it just me or is the relic in the New York Mets Rickey Henderson from a San Diego Padres uniform.
My concern is the hit or miss nature of the set. I opened my box yesterday and pulled a White Whale Jose Bautista Auto and Jumbo Patch, but I’m not 100% sure I’ll make up the $165 cost of the box. Makes me wonder….If I can pull a really nice 1 of 1 and still maybe not make back my money, is the set worth the cost?
Maybe it is if you buy multiple boxes? Not many people can afford to do that, though.
On the plus side. Open a box and you only have to store about 14 cards. It’s really nice sometimes to get into a set that doesn’t take up a lot of space. Also, the cards look great and seem highly collectible.
PS. I’m about 90% sure I’ll get my money back, but with that kind of pull, it shouldn’t be a question.
That is the bigest problem with collecting cards these days. When you buy a box you rarely get you valur back. In the old days if you bought the whole box you usually came out ahead.
The cards are definitely awesome. Although, I must agree with Donnie. You really have to wonder if people will get what they paid back. This is the reason most people stop buying boxes. I’ve yet to buy any of the higher end products like Triple Threads or Museum Collection, which I probably won’t because every product does have hit or miss. Granted, for those who can afford an entire case, chances of getting your money back and more, is highly probable.
These products are definitely only going to give you return if purchased in case quantity…unless you dumb luck you way into the buying the hot box within the case…I just bought a box for $210 and the 2 mini boxes yielded a Gaby Sanchez auto/jsy to #75, an A Beltre jsy to #36, a B McCann auto/jsy #d 1/9, and a J Ellsbury jsy #d 3/9 …the Ellsbury brought me a whopping $40 on ebay so I wont even prob recoup 50% of box price, but thats the risk in buying one box at a time
I recieved a redemption card for a Singular Swatch Relic. Does ANYBODY have an example of a redeemed card from this TTT set 1/1 only ten players or less. I have looked and asked all over. Thanks
