The Freak put on a show.
Former San Francisco Giants ace Tim Lincecum no-hit the San Diego Padres Saturday night for his fifth win of the season. He struck out 13 and walked just four in a complete-game effort in a 9-0 victory.
Entering the game, the two-time former Cy Young winner had a 4-9 record this season with a 4.61 ERA.
As for his collectibles, Lincecum appears on 3,113 items in the Beckett database (click here for a checklist or OPG) with a total value of $30,077.05, excluding rarities.
His first cards were made in 2006 Just Minors and TRISTAR minor-league products, while his Rookie Cards — 24 in all — can be found in 2007 MLB products. His most valuable RC is his 2007 UD Black card, an autographed issue that’s limited to just 99 copies and typically sells for $250 or less.
His most valuable early card priced by Beckett Media is his 2007 Bowman Chrome Prospects Gold Refractor, an autographed prospect card limited to just 50 copies. It typically sells for $1,200 or less. Lincecum’s autographed cards total just 316 certifieds, while he has 583 mem cards.
Lincecum’s autograph has become a bit more scarce in recent years as he has not signed a substantial number of cards for a manufacturer since 2009 when he signed for Upper Deck and Topps. A total of only six cards — one limited to four and another limited to two copies — have been released in that time, which, of course, has included a pair of World Series championships.
