A popular name is showing up in the NBA for the first time.

Panini America is bringing 2013-14 Pinnacle to NBA cards in mid-January with 10 30-card packs in each hobby box.

Each hobby box will have two autographs and a memorabilia card.

The retail version will have 24 eight-card packs with one autograph and memorabilia card. Retail will also have Red and Blue Artist’s Proofs in retail boxes.

Panini America is using former Pinnacle subsets such as Team Pinnacle and Z-Team. It’s also utilizing Clear Vision inserts from the baseball release. Other parallels and inserts include Artist’s Proof parallels, Big Bang, Jamfest and Scoring Kings.

There will be three different autograph subsets, including Pinnacle of Success, Pinnacle Autographs, and Essence of the Game (acetate cards).

The memorabilia cards will feature Upstart Jerseys (with prime versions) with some of the top 2013 rookies.

Pinnacle did appear in WNBA set in the late 1990s.

I understand that pinnacle isn’t what it used to be in the nineties, but wow this looks pretty pedestrian…
the design for team pinnacle and z team look like they thru it together in 5 minutes, or less.
