First look: 2012 Americana Heroes & Legends

Panini America‘s latest chapter of its popular Americana line of non-sport cards arrives this summer with 2012 Americana Heroes & Legends, a product that will return to a more traditional format, too.
Each 18-pack box will include three autograph or memorabilia cards as well as nine inserts and a parallel card when it arrives on July 11. There will be 10 cards per pack and 16 boxes per case, according to the company’s announcement on Tuesday.
The product will include a mix of Olympic athletes, military heroes, Astronauts and more — including four Dwight D. Eisenhower Army uniform cut autographs. (Need an Americana checklist or OPG? Click here.)
There also will be cards with actual pieces of gold, silver and bronze embedded into them, aptly called USA Medals, which will be limited to 1o or fewer copies. The golds will be 1/1s.
Lastly, there will be USA Signature Materials cards as well as Summer or Winter Signature Materials cards and Military Elite Signatures cards.
Each of those sets will be limited to 99 copies.

Well, they could have gone for 8 given there were 4 stars on each shoulder
from that uniform. I imagine the cost of getting his autograph was the main
reason why they stopped at 4.
