Join Beckett Sports Card Monthly‘s Chris Olds and Justin Grunert as they rip into boxes of 2013 Press Pass Legends racing cards in this latest edition of Box Busters.
What will they find inside? Watch and find out …
I’ve like the Legends product for quite some time. The problem is now that this product has been made for several years, some of those key names just don’t pack the same punch. Now that the supply is up for those drivers, there’s just not the same value being returned for them.Take Scott Dixon for example.Very well known Indy driver, but his autos can be had for a couple bucks. That Janet and Harry Gant should do well,or maybe given away, but I don’t see anything that makes this release be ahead of past Legends’ releases.Fun fact about Harry Gant;Burt Reynolds co-owned his car during part of the 1980’s.
GREAT BREAK AND For us old school fans this was a nice box. . i LOVE THE other series being in this release. I actually am one fan that wishes they would do more varied series in all releases. This would hopefully help get interest from the indy and drag racing fans in card collecting more.
Dave Marcis started wearing Wing Tips at the suggestion of wait for it wait for it. DAVID PEARSON. Dave forgot his shoes one time and David said you have your dress shoes right he said yea. David said wear those. The soles will deflect the heat and Dave never looked back.
The tom Mcewen autographs from this release all seem to be signed on back of the card. Travis Pastrana is a legend in motorcross which yall were correct about.
Erica Enders also has autographs for the first time ever in this product. SHe is not only the first woman to ever win pro stock event she had a movie about her life made by disney called right on track
Tiger Tom Pistone autographs are redemptions but it understandable He recently lost his wife/best friend to cancer after a long battle.
Jim Reed is also a first time signer for this product. he was a driver/owner and won 7 cup events.
HEY THAT David Pearson autograph would look awesome in my BECKETT SUPERCOLLECTOR DAVID PEARSON collection
I usually don’t purchase Legends but word on the street is that this is going to be Press Pass’ last release before they close the doors (has anyone else heard this?).
Apparently, they have laid off most of the company and there are only a handful of people left. I will miss them, but who knows maybe Panini or Topps will pick up the NASCAR license!
From Tom Farrell at Press Pass: “I also wanted to clear up a rumor that Press Pass was done and that last month’s Legends Racing product was our final product. Disappointing to hear and completely untrue. 2014 Press Pass Racing ships next week, Five Star in January, Total Memorabilia in Feb and the balance of the NASCAR plan (including some new twists) after that. 2014 Press Pass Rookie Football brands are also planned for March—May as usual.”
