Behind the scenes: 2009 Sweet Spot Materials baseball
Upper Deck‘s 2009 Sweet Spot Materials baseball set hasn’t even been officially announced yet, but that doesn’t mean that the folks at Upper Deck aren’t already busy crafting the cards that will be found in the latest installent of the popular Sweet Spot brand.
In fact, the company released several photos of cut game-used bat barrel nameplates that will end up on cards. Above is the nameplate off of a Joe DiMaggio bat and it’s been cut to size for a card frame.

Idiots!!! Use your brains, and make a bigger frame.
I really dont get why Upper Deck does this. They destroy sports history and they actually believe they are doing something great for the collector. Or maybe they are just thinking bottom line. I like upperdeck..but how do you justify cutting up a joe dimaggio bat! C’moonnnnnnn. What does Beckett think?
Damn, everyone is so negative, I LOVE it as an avid sports memorabilia and card collector, especially that Griffey Jr! I think its awesome to have a piece of baseball history so nice without having to cram your entire house with full sized jerseys, bats, balls, etc. These cards have always been awesome.
