The Houston Astros’ hot rookie has a new home.
Shortstop Carlos Correa signed an exclusive autograph and memorabilia deal with Topps, the company announced Wednesday.
As part of the deal, memorabilia autographed by Correa will be sold on Topps.com — a selection of jerseys, bats, baseballs and wall art. Terms of the multi-year deal were not disclosed but it was described by the company as a “seven-figure deal.”
“I’m thrilled to join the Topps family,” he said. “I can’t be happier about partnering with a company like Topps for my first major deal as a big leaguer.”
Through 68 games this season, he’s smacked 15 home runs and driven in 43 while hitting .278 for the first-place Astros.
“Carlos Correa is an outstanding talent who only seems to get better with every game that he plays,” said David Leiner, Topps’ VP & General Manager of North American Sports and Entertainment, in a prepared release. “We are excited to partner with an athlete who embodies our brand both on and off the field.”
Correa, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 draft, appears on 1,077 cards in the Beckett database with a value of more than $19,668 excluding rarities. He’ll also appear on the cover of the October issue of Beckett Baseball arriving in hobby shops soon.
