Each week, we will take a look inside the NBA and will give you the top three players of the week and provide a rundown on why collectors should take notice. Please feel free to leave your comments for a healthy debate.

DeAndre Jordan – C – Los Angeles Clippers
Last Five Games: 13.4 PPG, 20.4 RPG, 39.6 MPG
This beast from Texas A&M has produced career-high numbers this season with the Clippers in hopes of getting into the promised land and grabbing their first NBA title in franchise history. Jordan had nine-straight games of 15-plus rebounds and continues to wow collectors and fans alike. Since Blake Griffin’s injury on Feb. 7, Jordan has stepped up his production and has helped the Clippers stay on the path for a potential No. 4 seed in the Western Conference. Within the collecting world, Jordan doesn’t have the star appeal like he does in the real world. In the Beckett Online Price Guide, we only have 136 total autographs and 56 autographs that have been priced, and only five of those autographs break the $50 mark. If the Clippers continue their run into the playoffs and a potential NBA title, Jordan might be a good reason for MVP with his unlimited amount of rebounds per game and his double-digit points per game on average. Some collectors are starting to take note of his potential with key Rookie Cards like his 2008-09 SP Authentic JSY AU RC (currently priced at $30) starting to break the $40 barrier. You have ample opportunity to grab key RCs for a bargain price, including his 2008-09 SPx JSY AU/599 RC ($20) or his 2008-09 Upper Deck Premier JSY AU/199 RC ($15), so stock up now before the home stretch comes around at the end of March.

Key Cards To Collect
2008-09 Exquisite Collection #84 JSY AU/225 RC ($120)
2008-09 SP Rookie Threads #92 JSY AU/599 RC ($15)
2008-09 Topps Chrome Refractors AU/476 ($20)

gobert

Rudy Gobert – C – Utah Jazz
Last Five Games: 9.8 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 4.0 BPG
With this departure of Enes Kanter to the Thunder at the trade deadline, Gobert has became the No.1 center in Utah, and he has proven that his potential is vast and has a promising future with the Jazz. Although he is not putting up numbers similar to DeAndre Jordan, this second-year man out of France has shown his capabilities on the court and collectors are starting to invest. Gobert was fortunate to be a high-caliber rookie last year to be showcased in plenty of Panini and Upper Deck products. He already has 181 cards in the Beckett Online Price Guide. With that said, his prices on some of his key Rookie Cards have already pushed into the $100 range just from his production this season. For example, his 2013-14 Panini National Treasures JSY AU/99 RC started selling at the beginning of this season at around $30, but grew all the way up to $100 currently. Now with him becoming the starting center for an up-and-coming Utah team, his potential to grow is likely. With all that said, he has plenty of steals for autographs and rookie cards including his 2013-14 Innovation RC ($5) and his 2013-14 Panini Spectra JSY AU RC ($25). Do not wait on investing in Gobert though, as I have proven his value has skyrocketed just in this season alone. Just think what a full season next year in the starting lineup will do for this guy.

Key Cards To Collect
2013-14 UD Black #61 AU/199 ($25)
2013-14 Exquisite Collection #60 JSY AU/199 ($40)
2013-14 Immaculate Collection #112 JSY AU/99 RC ($100)

mozgov

Timofey Mozgov – C – Cleveland Cavaliers
Last Five Games: 9.4 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 1.6 RPG.
Who knew a 7-foot-tall Russian not even averaging a double-double this season would make the list this week. Well, with the loss of Anderson Varejao for the season, the Cavs needed a big man to keep their top-tier position in the Eastern Conference. When the Cavs traded for Mozgov from Denver, he immediately stepped in and produced, helping the Cavs cruise on a 12-game win streak. Mozgov has never been a highly collectible player, with having only 139 cards in the Beckett Online Price Guide and 32 of those being priced autographs. The recent trade and production boost with help from playmakers like Kyrie Irving and LeBron James has played a huge factor in his rise on cardboard. At the beginning of this season, his value for his 2010-11 Playoff National Treasures JSY AU RC was averaging at $30 but has rose recently to around $80. Have I said that he is not averaging a double-double in his season numbers? With only one card topping the $100 mark (2010-11 Playoff National Treasures Century Gold JSY AU/25), the time is right for collectors to jump all over Mozgov before the Cavs start their playoff push here in the next few weeks. Look to grab his 2010-11 Timeless Treasures AU/299 RC ($10) or even his 2010-11 Panini Gold Standard AU/299 RC ($15) to start your personal collection and see where his potential takes you. Expect big things from this 28-year-old during the playoffs and expect things to translate well over to cardboard.

Key Cards To Collect
2010-11 Classics #180 AU/699 RC ($20)
2013-14 Totally Certified Autographs #128 ($6)
2010-11 Donruss #262 RC ($1.50)
