Each factory set will include one autographed Rookie Card and there will be 24 sets per case.

A preliminary checklist was not released, but it’s not a reach to expect that top rookies Jose Abreu and Masahiro Tanaka will be found in the hobby-channel release as they are featured among the previewed players. (In previous years, this release was a Topps.com exclusive.) Also joining them will be rookies George Springer, Oscar Taveras and Kennys Vargas.

Among the tentative signers for this one are Mookie Betts, Jacob deGrom, Marcus Stroman, Gregory Polanco, Aaron Sanchez and Arismendy Alcantara.

There also will be red-ink versions limited to just 10 copies apiece.

    Price and production levels?

2 years ago they had them limited to 1000 and they were great.
Last year they refused to publish production levels and it took them months to clear them out.
I have a feeling that someone bought them in bulk at a discount.

As for price, back in the early 90’s they had update sets that sold for $20, 1 auto per, they sold fine
and were fair to the hobby.

Limit these to 1000 and I’m buying a set.
Don’t reveal the #’s and I won’t unless they are cheap.

And for goodness sake pack them better than last years release. I’ve seen far too many people selling
dinged boxed versions that just tells us you don’t give a damn about the hobby.

Richard, you’re worried about “production levels” ? O_o YOU don’t give a damn about the hobby, you only care about the value of the product and not the actual hobby itself. Perhaps you should quit and re-evaluate your life.

aside from that, i can’t wait to get this stuff.

Adam, Richard is 100% correct, and that is because (I assume) he cares about the hobby and suspects that Topps is being the ingenuous party. Overproduction is what killed the Hobby in the late 80s – early 90s. Overcharging for a mass produced item is just a money grab by the manufacturers. Charge less, unless production is limited, then by all means, charge more. I’d rather get a box that will maintain its inherent value than buy something that isn’t worth 1/10th of what you paid 5 years later. Desiring a Value of a product does not equal disdain for the hobby. ( IMO, of course. )
