With a couple of college-centered draft products coming before it, 2017 Score Football kicks off the new NFL card season as far as packs and boxes go. The long-standing brand returns with another big checklist and a hobby configuration that emphasizes jumbo packs.

Hobby boxes come with four autographs plus a bunch of inserts and Rookie Cards.

Base Set

The 2017 Score Football base set is one of the largest of the season. It starts with 330 veteran cards. On top of that are 110 Rookie Cards, the first NFL cards of the 2017 draft class included in packs (select players had cards in the online-exclusive, print-on-demand 2017 Panini Instant Football beforehand). Rookies fall eight per hobby jumbo pack. Slated to release the same time as the 2017 NFL Draft, first-year players will be pictured in their college uniforms.

Each hobby box has five numbered parallels. Retail and blaster packs have some exclusive parallels of their own. Gold parallels are only found in blaster boxes. Retail packs and boxes are the lone place to pull Green parallels.

Autographs and Memorabilia Cards

The bulk of the autographs in 2017 Score Football come from rookies. Rookie Signatures use a design that’s similar to the base set. Parallels come in multiple levels, numbered as low as one-of-one.

Veterans and retired players also have autographs in the product. These can be found in Signatures, Inscriptions and Dual Draft Signatures, which highlight players taken in the same round of the draft.

On the relic side, 2017 Score Football blasters each come with an exclusive memorabilia card.

2017 Score Football has a lot of variety when it comes to inserts. Most hobby packs have four such cards (packs with autographs will probably have three). Among them are some new themes and designs including Color Rush, Fantasy Stars and three-player Drive Team.

Boxes per case: 12 (hobby), 20 (retail and blaster)
Set size: 440 cards

I’ve moved to Score after Topps stopped doing football. I like that you continue to offer a product that new collectors and those on a budget can enjoy.
